Quote of the Day
“I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It’s not. Mine had me trained in two days.” - Bill Dana

"I have in my art career been scared of every possible bad outcome. Scared of my art getting lost through shipping. Scared of nobody buying my work. Scared of negative comments. Scared of my friends laughing behind my back. I’ve had many sleepless nights over the bailiffs knocking on my door but when they finally knocked I slept like a rose. What I learned is very simple. The anticipation of a bad outcome is much worse than the bad outcome itself. And if you let them, the bad outcomes will propel you forward reaching new heights. And so the advice is simple. Stop being afraid. You’re an artist, shut up and create!
"A strange thing happens when the bailiff knocks on your door and asks for massive amounts of money that you don’t have. You suddenly figure out a way to make money from your art. In the four-month period after the bailiff knocked on my door I (increased) 10 times my income from art. I didn’t learn anything new. I didn’t do anything I didn’t know yet. I just did the things that I already knew I should be doing. And I know for a fact that wouldn’t have happened if those bailiffs didn’t create the need for money. You know what they say, 'necessity is the mother of invention.' The best thing that can happen is that your worst fears become a reality because when they do you suddenly realize there is nothing to be afraid of. In fact bad outcomes make you stronger and better. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger."
